The starter is located on the driver's side of the engine, at the front. There are two bolts that connect the starter to the flywheel of the transmission. If you are unsure what the starter looks like, it is roughly half the size of a football and the only engine part with two cylindrical metal pieces joined together, one of which is larger than the other. Another way to locate your starter is to trace the electrical wire from the red battery terminal, which splits after leaving the battery, with one wire going to the alternator and the other wire going to the starter.

Any suggestions on one that will not start

If your saying the starter motor won't crank? Make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good. Check starter wiring circuits. I'd have to make sure security system doesn't have a problem?
If there is a starter relay, on load side of relay, one terminal is hot all the time, If you use jumper wire between the proper two terminals, on load side of relay, the starter should crank. If you try that, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and functional parking brake is set. With automotive relays, they have two sides, coil/control side and the other side is switch/load side that carries voltage to starter. Even if we get starter motor to crank, if security system is involved, it still won't start.
If you have proper voltage and ground at the starter motor and no starter action, I'd have to check starter motor.

Car wont start have replaced starter motor and relay and igniyion switch still wont start

What is year--make--model?
Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections are all good. If your saying starter motor won't crank, check voltage and ground at the starter motor. Usually two voltage circuits at the starter, one comes from the battery, hot all the time. The other circuit goes hot with key in the crank position and in your case, I suppose wired through the starter relay. The relay has two circuits, the load side and control side of relay. The control side of relay needs voltage and ground to energize the relay. The load side of relay, in a diagram shows a line with arrowhead, when relay is energized, that arrowhead line moves to other terminal and that circuit carries voltage to starter. The voltage for load side of relay is usually hot all the time. I can't rule out neutral or clutch switch. The starter motor usually grounds through the engine block. If all voltage and ground circuit for the starter are good, I'd have to make sure the engine isn't seized.
Any testing at the starter, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and functional parking brake is set.

How do I wire a 3 prong solenoid?

You've got it right. Anything connected to the starter cable side will try to power the starter or will receive power while cranking.

Building a derby car and need to know how to wire starter and ingintion

The ignition switch can be just an SPST toggle switch that connects power from the battery side of the starter solenoid to the battery side of the ignition resistor. The starter switch is just a normally-open single-pole push-button. The starter solenoid usually has two small terminals and two large terminals. Wire one small terminal to the battery side of the solenoid and the other small terminal to the starter switch. The other side of the starter switch goes to a good grounding point. This allows the starter to be operated at any time whether the ignition is on or not. Remove a battery terminal to prevent kids from starting the car or turning the ignition on and running the battery down. Hope this helps!

Where is starter and how do you change starter in a 2002 dodge neon

It should be next to the transmission on the left side of the car so driver side. You can run it down by following the hot side of the battery all the way down to the starter and its two or 3 bolts holding it in and you need to take off the positive side of the battery before touching the starter. The wire from the battery will need to be taken off after you take the 2 or 3 bolts out. it should be a nut on a stud that you need to unscrew to get the hot side off the starter. should be easy very grease and dirty. need anymore help let me know. you may need to wiggle it around to find the perfect angle to get the starter out.

Where is the starter located on a 1992 grand marquis?

Look for a sticker on the driver side door jam.

if your car was made up to 2/92 the starter is on the passenger side of the engine above the oil pan on side of engine block, two bolt's hold starter in place into the transmission housing.

if your car was made after 2/92 the starter is on the driver side also next to the engine block with three bolt's into the transmission housing.

Hope this was very helpful.

How to locate starter motor in mazda 323F

The starter motor is located on the back side of the engine (closest to the firewall) underneath the fuel injection/intake manifold. To replace it, first disconnect the battery, then remove the main power cable (heavy wire) and the start wire (light wire). Next remove the two bolts for the intake manifold support bracket and remove bracket. Remove one bolt on starter rear support bracket and 3 bellhousing flange bolts (two accessible from starter side, on accessible from bellhousing side). the starter is now free and can be taken out form teh passenger's side (LHD).

How to replace starter

Keep in mind that the engine sits in there sideways, so the "back" of the engine, or flywheel is actually on the driver's side (the front is on the passenger side). The starter for any vehicle is at the flywheel. Raise the vehicle and crawl underneath from the front on the driver's side. Look for the oil filter. Slightly above and to your left (toward the driver's side wheel well) is the starter. It looks to me like you'll need to drain the motor oil and remove the oil filter to have room to remove the starter.
