Well, i guess you could try pulling it W/O jacking it up. lol. But you may be squished under your car and probably won't have the room to move freely. Thats the only reason you really have to jack it up lol. PLEASE RATE THIS!!! :)

How to get the battery out

The battery in the 2003 Pontiac Montana is located in the engine compartment on the passenger's side just behind the headlight assembly. Changing the battery can be a little challenging because the Pontiac saw fit to bury it below several other parts in the van. The under-hood fuse box sits directly above the battery and a cross brace runs over the top of it as well. Dealing with both items is not complicated but does add time to the process. My battery light flashes and then my tc light is on with what looks like a wrench beside it pontiac montana

Sounds like a bad alternator. GM vehicles are notorious for failing starters, alternators and fuel pumps. If your battery light is flashing, your alternator is not putting out enough keep the battery charges and keep all of those electronics running. take a volt meter. You should get anywhere from 13.8 to 14.8 volts with your engine running and about 12 volts with everything off. Take the vehicle to your local auto parts store for a free charging system test. Advance auto parts can load test the battery and charging system.

How do you change an alternator on an 2003 Pontiac Montana?

your best bet is to visit the library and look in a chiltons/moter/mitchells
or haynes repair manual any of these should have step by step directions + diagrams to r+r your alternator or you can stop by any
auto parts store napa/cap/auto zone etc. get the haynes repair manual
it's about $10.00 and has the info you need and many others that may
come up in the future.
hope this helps any other ? gimme a shout good luck

Replaceing alternator on 2000 pontiac montana

I can help with this problem, I just today had to remove my alternator on our 2003 Montana van. Here is how it is done, first disconnect the wiper motor wires and assembly then the two wiper rods (flat) needs to be loosened and disconnected, next comes the pipe cross member that when removed will also remove the complete wiper assembly. The bad thing is, after you do all this and the alternator is not the problem. Which in my case it wasn't. I hope this helps all who are having this problem.
