It may be the key. You will need to run some test to know for sure. If your car is not starting and it won't crank, there are a few things you need to check. If you do have power to the inside of the car, interior lights are working, you need to check your ignition fuse first. It is located in your fuse box. You will need to refer to your owner manual for the location of the fuse or check the diagram on your fuse box. You want to make sure the fuse has not blown. If it continues to blow, you need to check out the wiring harness, especially around the fuse housing. If your fuse is ok, you will then want to check out the starter and the starter solenoid. You want to make sure none of the wires are damaged around the starter and all connections are good. Make sure the starter is not clogged out with oil or other fluids. If it is, that may be the reason it is not working correctly. You want to clean it out as much as you can and put it back in to try it. Now, if you don't have power in the vehicle, you want to check the battery first. Make sure the battery is holding a proper charge. If it is not holding a charge, you want to make sure that the terminals are clean and the ends are not loose. If your terminals are loose, redo the wires and reattach the terminal ends. If they are cracked, your going to want to go ahead and change them. You can buy them at the part stores for just a few dollars. Also, make sure your post are clean. You can easily clean them with a metal wire brush. Make sure the battery is not leaking acid as well. Look for any moisture spots on the battery and make sure you where gloves when working around the battery. You do not want to get any acid on your skin. If that all looks good, you want to check the wires that go from the battery to the starter. Make sure they are not damaged. Remember, by being able to work on your vehicle yourself, you will save a lot of time and money in the long run. As always, thank you for reading and using FixYa. Best wishes.

To be honest Sparky, I am not that familiar with the bonnet. I couldn't tell you either way. Is your check engine light on? Sorry for the late reply. I was at work all day, just came home.
