Why is abs light on

ABS relies on a properly operating conventional brake system. If the ABS packs up, you should still have normal, unassisted braking, so it's safe to continue your journey.

Good day, I am experiencing the following problem with my Dodge Journey 2009. The EPS/BAS & ABS lights in the Instrument panel doesn't go off. Thank you in advance. Reuben.

This means theres a problem with one of the systems, the most common that would turn on all these light would be the abs system, if the abs system is not working good then the EPS/BAS cant run correctly, they use readings from the abs system so i would say theres a problem with the abs system like a bad wheel speed sensor but in order to find out the computer will need to be scanned for the codes. A scann tool will be needed for this and the tool is not cheap so i would have a garage scan it. what happens is the computer will see a component out of spec or the reading is not sent and inturn it turns the lights on and stores a code with the reason why. for example the code may be C100A- right front spped sensor.

ABS warning light coming on and off intermitently

You need to have the brakes checked. While the light is blinking, it is not too serious. When it does not go off, then is when the brake pads need replacement and possibly new rotors. Salt from the hiway during cold weather. Can cause the brake system to "get dirty" or leaking fluid. Fix them ASAP. If one wheel runs very sluggish, and the pads are bad, the wheel on the other side is contaminated bt dirt, sand , fluid etc.

2003 vw jetta 1.8 ESP light stays on, no traction control

The problem is almost certainly NOT the MAF sensor.
This problem can be caused by any one of the following
A faulty or dirty ABS wheel sensor...situated at each one of the 4 hubs
although the ABS light would usually illuminate if one of these sensors is faulty.....but NOT always

A faulty ESP switch The switch may be stuck in the open position, which WILL illuminate the ESP light and turn OFF your traction control.

Some models are also fitted with a YAW sensor, which detects side slip while driving. If this goes faulty it will also Illuminate the ESP light.
This sensor is bolted to the center of the floor panel..under the rear seat.
So as to save time and money..You should have the OBD codes scanned. This will pin-point the problem in minutes.

All the best

I would check the ground for the plate lights. You have to remove the steering wheel and dash trim to get to the cluster for removal. Let me know if you need to know how to remove the cluster.

99 jetta 2.0 check engine light. HELP

Replacing brakes will not shut the abs light off. You have either a bad sensor or accumulated dirt on a sensor. There's a sensor for each wheel so you have to either pull a code or visually see which sensor is bad, craced, chiped, etc, then change. As for the CE light, go to auto zone and they'll hook it up and tell you why it's on. You have to use a scanner to find out.
