I'm assuming you meant 5000 RPMs? If so it sounds like your transmission is slipping. That would also cover the other symptoms you mentioned except for unresponsive idle. I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. It's also possible that it's your computer but not as likely
Usually the problem of hesitation is caused by a faulty throttle position sensor or low fuel pressure, and stalling is a dirty throttle body or faulty idle air control valve. Is the check engine light on ?
AIR CONDITIONER PUT LOAD ON ENGINE.IN ORDER FOR ENGINE TO CARRY AC LOAD YOUR ENGINE HAS TO BE TOP KNOTCH SHAPE.SPARK PLUGS + WIRES HAS TO BE GOOD.FUEL FILTER AND AIR FILTER HAS TO BE GOOD SHAPE.INJECTORS BEEN CLEANED.SEE YOUR ENGINE HAS TO HAVE FULL POWER TO CARRY AC LOAD.IF ENGINE POORLY TUNED THE AC WILL PULL DOWN ENGINE POWER THATS WHY YOU GET HESITATION.
same with mine... exact same situation. I have an automatic, and when it switches gears the rpms may spike and/or it won't shift. further investigation showed that the transmission fluid was leaking thru a hose... add a half quart of trans oil and drive it to a mechanic unless you know how to check your level
3500 rpms is about 80 mph. Is this noise in 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear? Is check engine light on?
Chirping could be accessory belt noise. Spray them one at a time with belt dresing to see if it goes away and which belt is doing it.
