Question about 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix

2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP / Multi-function Switch

How much should I pay for a MultiFunction Switch for my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix? My break lights stopped working so I checked the bulbs and the fuses and all were ok. I am told the problem is with the MultiFunction Switch and was quoted $432.95 for the part only.

Thanks,

Brett

I have the sameproblem. Dealer part was quoted to me at $510.00. All after market parts stores were $350- 450. Try moving the emerg. flasher button while you step on the brakes and someone else watches the lights. I jammed paper beside the button and they work until I can fix it.I had to order the multi-function switch. and you have to pull the air bags to replace it.

Would replacing a power steering pump in a 2002 Grand Prix GTP Supercharger cause the SuperCharger belt to break.

No.

The supercharger belt is on the main drive, the water pump is on the accessory drive. Provided that they are both properly installed of course.

I need to replace the mutifunction switch on my '02 GTP. Does anyone know the steps involved in doing this? I know I need to disable and remove the airbag on the steering wheel.

the multi function switch is held in by 2 screws that holds the turn swith arm. just loosen them up and it should come out in 1 full piece. just remove and replace with new switch.....

Headlights on 97 grand am gtp turn off when night comes but work during the day why all the lights work fine

Crazy problem. There is a photo sensor that tells the computer when it's dark and to turn on the lights. Do they work at night when you turn on the light switch ?
I would think the photo sensor is defective and should be replaced or eliminated from the light circuit.
