Question about Ford Focus

1 Answer

I live in rural Alaska with no local mechanic to program the new keys I had to replace (the leasee lost ALL keys.) It is a 2006 Ford Focus. Can I buy tools, software, or equipment to program my keys to the car? Can I do it myself or is there security barriers? Shipping someone out here or the car to a dealer is not an option. Thank you! :)

Thank you. I will look this method up, research it, and I may have to go online and seek out the "ign" and "pcm." So, I have chips in the keys that a Ford Dealership cut and mailed to me. I just have to program those keys. It sounds like I can purchase a car key programmer and program the keys myself, but I'm worried about passwords, PIN codes, other security measures that a licensed mechanic may have the knowledge / access to overcome.

The only opition i see in your case is to go to a junk yard and take the ign and the pcm out of the same make and model as you car you are still gonna need a com(like a ATS or an OB2 reader to enter the system) of it and you can install this in your car and it will convert.... wish there was another way but that way is iillegal hope this could help you

How can i find the Location of the BCM on a 2006 Ford Focus?

it needs to have a matching program for the ecm and the immobiliser. A new key cut to the existing barrel/lock and programmed to the vehicle ecm will solve the problem. Even if you get a new barrel and key you will still have to have it reprogrammed to the ecm and immobiliser system

Do I have to reprogram a used ecm i'm putting on a 2006 ford focus?

I am not a mechanic but when we replaced one on my Moms Chrysler we were told all we had to do was disconnect it from the power source for 10 min and it would reset itself. Call you local dealer service department or parts department, they are usually pretty good about answering this type question.

I have lost my keys and no one within 400 miles to program my new cut keys. No spares. Only brand new cut keys that have to be programmed to a 2006 Ford Focus. Can I purchase the equipment necessary to...

You can also have a locksmith make keys for you...but with zero keys, you may have to get the first one from the dealer, and be prepared to provide proof of ownership...

I buy brand new ECU of my ford focus 2006 but when i connect the new ECU the starter is not working, help me.

That is not something you should be involved with

You need professional mechanics with the proper
scan tools etc, to in your case even start it

Those parts never fail often,so you most
likely wasted your money

I have a 2004 ford focus that has a chip in the ignition key. the key cylinder on the column is bad and needs to be replaced. it can be bought at local parts store but can i program it or does the dealer...

The new ignition key cylinder will only need programming if it comes assembled with a key. If the cylinder comes in a kit (type that ford dealer sells) that lets you build the cylinder to match your key, then no programming is needed.
I hope this helps you

Door sticking

I had the same exact problem in my 2006.  When it went into the shop I told them.  They took a look at it and told me that they needed to be lubricated and cleaned out.  I live in a rural area and drive on a lot of dirt roads.  Apparently dirt had gotten into the locking mechanism and gummed it up.  They fixed it for me last May and I haven't had a problem since.  This may or may not be your issue too but I hope it helps.
