yeah too much oil or low on oil will trigger the check engine light it happen to me on my 2000 altime gxe .
All you need to do is add the right amount of oil. and then to reset the light, unplug the neg. battery terminal for one minute. Then everything should be fine and dandy. :) Hope this helps. PLEASE RATE!!!! James Booth
