what do you mean from underneath, not above. Jeeps are know for bad neutral safety switches. Itson the side of the transmission and its very expensive ,$350 range.

I have a 2004 Saturn vue...I replaced starter last year...but about a week ago I had to turn the key on and off multiple times and then finally starts...now it wont start...battery is good startergood

It's possibly the ignition switch or the battery cable going to the starter . Would need to do some testing to say for sure . Can you do electrical testing ? Have someone turn the key to the start position and someone check for B+ voltage at the S terminal on the starter solenoid . If B+ voltage is there , voltage drop test the starter circuit . How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit Starter Voltage Drop

83 cj7 new starter and solenoid, can hear solenoid click, also noticed there are burnt spots on the inside of distributer. no crank or start. can anyone help

Check battery connections and make sure battery has a good charge. Possible cable ends are dirty. remove from battery and clean. Do headlights come on if you turn on switch? Burned contacts in dist cap are signs of wear. ( normal ). I would recommend replacement before you have a drivability issue. If solenoid is clicking, it sounds like a poor connection

Starter motor run on, starter has been replaced

replace the ignition switch or disconnect the starter cable from the switch and make/fit a push button for the starter motor just like the old fashioned cars like the old mini that had a push button by the handbrake or a london bus that had one on a panel above your head

My 96 jeep Laredo will not turn over. I've checked

sorry turns over means ZERO
the crank shaft can spin or not
the starter can in fact spin and crankshaft not.
and some think turns over means, engine runs. now that fact makes turns over, a dead statement.

the word is cranks over, the engine cranks over robustlyl
and then the engine runs.
then runs for more that 3 seconds, and the ASD relay holds. (step by step his works like this ,93 to now)

wont crank ? (clear statement in fact)
cranks ok, (crank shaft spins fast) can be seen and heard.
runs for 3 seconds? and stalls (ASD relay drop out) can be seen.
runs for 5min and stalls. (complex)
runs for hours and stalls. (even more complex)
all are key facts to the solution.

tell more..... tell all it does good bad or ugly
for better suggestions!

2005 Altima won't start, hear clicking sound coming from fuse box,key stuck in ingintion, won;t turn over, tried to jump start.

the clicking that you hear is coming from the starter relay. sounds like your ignition starter switch or ignition lock cylinder is bad.

2002 jeep cherokee laredo won't start new battery

The Jeep DTC P1491 code is actually radiator fan control relay circuit.
Soft reset if the battery disconnect would have erased the code; the first thing I would replace for that code (fan relay).
Additionally, its possible thta your THEFT system is activated, check owners manual to disarm.
Hope this helps.

1994 ignition problem, battery is charged, sometimes starts when key is turned sometimes does not. I am not sure if it is ignition switch or elswhere.

Could be ignition switch, battery/battery connection, starter, starter solenoid, or starter relay. (phew!) Remove your battery cables and clean the posts and terminals. (There's a really cheap and easy-to-use tool for this that works VERY well. Cheap as in 1-2 bucks.) Get your battery checked, too. Just in case. If you're pretty good with stuff like this, remove the ignition switch and hotwire it. If it starts every time, it's your switch. If not that, replace your starter relay. Cheap and easy. If not that, Get your starter/starter solenoid checked at a parts store for FREE. (You'll have to remove it, but most can DIY.) Good Luck.
