Question about 1987 Subaru Gl 4WD
I know this thread is old, but I thought I'd put my two cents in. If your car is carbureted chances are the reason your wagon won't idle is that you have a vacuum leak, simple as that. Check the black hoses underneath the air filter and make sure they're all plugged in, sometimes they pop off.

When was the last time you had a MAJOR tune up? Other than that, it could be as simple as adjusting the throttle.
