Question about 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora
If your car is equipped with VATS this may be your problem. VATS is Vehicle Anti Theft System. A GM security system designed to make your car theft proof. Problem is the little black tab on your key that basically sends a signal to your motor to tell it it is the right key, wears out from everyday use, getting scratched, etc. Also the wiring used in the ignition wasnt always the best either and the wires sometimes became weak. If you have a good spare key, try using that one. If not, ask the dealer how much for a new key. I think they are costly. Hope it helps, good luck
