Why am I hearing this exhaust sound under my car? It sounds like a sound that should be coming from my tail pipes but under the car.

Sounds like you have an exhaust leak. Take it to your local exhaust, or mechanic shop. They should be able to fix it for pretty cheap. Please rate this. Hope this helps, James Booth

It sounds like there might be a hole in your exhaust.

Does the exhaust sound right at the tail pipe? Can you hear an exhaust sound? If it is VERY quiet,it may be a clogged catalytic converter and that can cause the problem you have.
It should be looked at in person, by a mechanic for an estimate before you change any parts.
2 estimates by 2 different mechanics never hurt.

Exhaust leak in 2005 dodge neon seams to be in front how can i find it and fix it

Since you wired up the muffler most likely the break is around the muffler. Easiest way to find it is to put it in park, have a helper rev the engine to say 1500-2000rpm, then from under the car move your hand around different areas and you'll feel the exhaust coming out where the leak is. Just make sure you don't touch the exhaust or you'll get burned, just place your hand near the pipes not on them!

How do you know that you have an exhaust leak

Car will be getting a little louder, you may hear a ticking noise if the leak is at the exhaust manifold. You can also start your car up in the morning, and look under neath. If it is leaking, you may see smoke coming out in the middle of the system or any other place than the tail pipe.. All exhaust should come out of the tail pipe only. Good luck and don't forget to rate this solution thanks

I Have A 1995 Honda Accord LX And when I crank the car up it idles high until it warm up. When, I'm driving and accelerating I keep hearing a loud noise. The faster I accelerate the louder it sounds it...

I'd say you have a vacuum leak- maybe a gasket. Also check the egr. You can spray a little carb cleaner around gaskets to see if the engine responds. It will sputter or even stall if it sucks carb cleaner in. You'll at least hear the rpms drop. Be carefully as it is flammable. Also, there's a procedure to relearn the idle. Disconnect the battery for maybe an hour, start car with all lights, radio, a/c OFF. Let car run for several minutes.

2000 oldsmobile alero exhaust problem.

If you can tell where the sound is coming from. Look for any smoke venting out. It maybe that the exhaust manifold gasket is going bad. This will cause exhaust to escape from the engine before the tail-pipe. If this is the case, it will not pass SMOG. Could be dangerous for you health as well.
If this is the case, you should be able to hear the gas escape when giving it some gas in Park. Could be the muffler or any part of the exhaust depending on where it is coming from.

Its complety losing power and it sounds crazy i think its a sensor or mabye a clogged cat/???/

Have someone turn off the engine while you listen to the tail pipe. The exhaust should stop immediately when the engine is tutned off. If you hear a wheezing, smell a sulpher odor or feel exhaust still coming out, The conv is defective. Yes, a restricted conv will cause loss of power.good luck

sounds like you have a loose or dry rotted exhaust hanger, i know it sounds crazy, but it could be the exhaust rattling you hear.

go to the tail pipe of the truck, and with your foot push on the tail pipe, if you have more than 1 inch of movment this is your problem.
