1998 Chaevy Cavalier manual transmission won't shift

Hi orvil brad hear, I would guess since you said you have a brake fluid leak, all of the master cylinder pressure is going out through the leak, not leaving enough pressure to actuate your clutch. If its not this it will problem be inside the tranny and thats another story. Good luck

I have a 96 chevy cavalier 2.2l 5spd manual transmission...new clutch 3 months ago...fluid level is full...shifts with no grinding...but when u release the clutch... It takes a minute for it to start ...

sounds a lot like the throwout bearing is binding on the input shaft and not releasing the pressure plate. In any case, it needs to come apart to look before anything else gets damaged..

needs trany work, when a tranny is low on fluid it will not shift into high gears. For some reason your transmission is not properly lubracating.

96 Cavalier gurgling noise and a little hard to start

to check tranny fluid,car has to run on park for couple mins,then find the dip take it out wipe but back in and check will car running,then the starting problem sounds like your crank sensor is bad replace that if ,still no luck then its timing belt of a tooth or so.if my info was of help please leave a comment,vote,note.thankyou

Shifts at 700 rpms

Check transmission fluid level. Sounds like your fluid is really low. If you have a lot of K the tranny oil and filter should be changed.
