Question about 2007 Dodge Ram Truck

1 Answer

I have a 2007 Ram 1500 Quadcab 4x4 5.4L Hemi. The Brake and ABS lights go on and off as your driving. When they come on they kick the cruise control off. Started last week, brake fluid level is good, Parking break switch is not the problem nor is the brake peddle switch. Today the brake light and ABS lights came on as well as the check engine light, the speedometer becomes intermittent, and when the speedometer quits working the engine bogs down. when the speedometer strats working the engine power surges. All the while the RPMs remain constant. What is going on?

ABS and Brake warning lights intermittent may be caused by a failing wheel speed sensor(ABS Sensor) and /or its connector. You may have one on each wheel hub(4WD) or if 2WD, a sensor may be on the rear axle differential center.

My brake lights wont turn off even when the truck is and my cruise wont engage either????

Your cruise won't engage because your brake lights are on permanently.
These are on permanently probably because your brake switch is faulty.
It's located near the top of your brake pedal.

2007 dodge ram 1500 5.7L hemi, loss of power

if i remember correctly ,, the computer drops a few cylinders while cruising to save fuel and this turns off when you step on the gas again ,, so there may be nothing wrong with your truck

I have a ram 1500 hemi every time i put my foot on brakes

Several cars that I know of are set up to beep when the ABS controller is failing or has failed. Have your computer scanned for fault codes - it's very possible that there are brake-related fault codes stored in there that have not tripped the check-engine light. They'll help you determine what needs to be replaced.

If you do end up needing a rebuild on the module, I'd highly recommend www.modulemaster.com - on the Audi forums that I frequent, they're held in very high regard for fast service, good pricing, and warrantied, quality work.

2003 dodge ram 1500 abs & brake light came on. also cruise does not work. any suggestions

Problem: I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 L HEMI. My ABS and Parking Brake lights were illuminated, and my speedometer needle would "bounce". Also when sitting at a stop sign or just sitting idle, the engine would stall, and often times stop running.

Solution: After long research on this problem, I decided to dig in and try to find the problem myself. I replaced the Rear ABS Sensor
($35) that's located on top of the rear differential. Still no fix. I then unplugged the ABS Controller (or Module) that's located directly behind the battery (You should see the metal brake lines running into the top of it.) When I unplugged it, I noticed LOTS of moisture in the plug. Using an air hose, I blew out the water and let it dry good. When I plugged it back in, and hooked the negative battery terminal back up THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED!! Simple fix. Hope this helps.

The brake and ABS light both come on when you are receiving no speed signal. Most likely the speed sensor in the top of the rearend is bad.
