Could be a faulty radiator or too much pressure in the system.
You could have a bad head gasket.

Just replaced radiator hose for 2002 BMW X5 4.4 v8 because old one came loose and all fluid leaked out. Refilled radiator with 21/2 gallons of antifreeze. Now when I turn on the car the temp gauge goes all...

Which hose came off? If it was the top radiator hose, is the nipple on the radiator still intact? The failure mode for these plastic radiators is that the top hose nipple crumbles from the inside and blows off.
Did you bleed the cooling system through the bleed screw next to the fill point on the radiator? Normally, when these cars overheat after coolant is changed, it is because there is air in the system. You need to turn on the key and turn the heater all the way up so the heater valve opens, then add coolant to the reservoir until pure water comes out the bleed screw hole. The reservoir will appear to be overfilled, but any excess coolant will push out the first time you drive the car (oops, is EPA listening?)
These cars do tend to loose thermostats more often than other cars for some reason. The way to check that without taking it apart is to pull the top radiator hose off at the radiator and put it over a bucket, and start the car. (do this only after you have bled all the air out of the system) About the time the temperature gauge starts to climb, water should start to trickle out the top radiator hose.
If it appears to be bad, after you replace it, boil it in a pan of water to see if it opens. If it does not open in boiling water, you know that you found and fixed your problem.

The heat has went out and the engine is overheating,it blew the radiator hose off when it happened.

Sounds like you have a bad head gasket, Some simple tests at a repair shop can verify this.

No use putting any money into this until you verify the integraty of the engine

My 2005 saturn Ion developed a coolant leak. Something blew up (spewing anti-freeze everywhere) on the drivers side, just behind the headlights. I can't see what it is? Anyone have an idea?

radiator or top coolant hose. that is the only thing that it could be on that side.

!997 chrysler town and country LXi 3.8L is overheating and it blew a hole in a hose on top and after i changed the hose it blew a hole in another hose on the bottom. Is this a water pump problem??

If the hoses were in good shape and they blew you may have a clog in the system most likely the radiator. You take the van to a good radiator shop and ask them to flow check your radiator.

The top radiator hose blew apart. after replacing and filling radiator back up engine runs ruff and guage is hot. radiator water is cold. What is wrong?

First place I'd look is at the thermostat. However, if the hose did not rupture in a normal manner and blew apart, I'd also suspect that you may have a blown head gasket. In that case, compression is entering the cooling system which is not designed to handle such high pressures, therefore causing the hose to explode). This will also result in rough running you observed.
