The big outside pulley on the harmonic balancer fell off

The Harmonic balancer is held on to the front of the crank shaft with a bolt. there are pullys pressed onto the harmonic balancer in rubber. If more pulleys are needed for more accessories they are bolted to the harmonic balancer.

What all has to be replaced when the crankshaft pulley? falls off

Did the crankshaft pulley separate from the harmonic balancer? No bolts missing? This happens once in a while. Just replace the harmonic balancer assembly (and probably the belt).

How can i fix my locked up engine in my 1987 crown victoria? i had oil in it and to my knowledge my starter was good. what route should i take next?

Try taking out the spark plugs put motor oil in all cylinders and let it sit for a day or 2 fully charge the batterry for the 2 days on (2 amp if possible) try it again a few times if it still won't free up use a socket on a breaker bar on the harmonic balancer bolt and try to turn it manually...Good Luck

Pulling the harmonic balancer off a 98 nissan pathfinder

Most balancers have two parts, the inner crankshaft section is where the huge bolt is and holds it to the crankshaft, they may also be a few smaller bolts around the outside of the big bolt, those hold the belt pulley on to the crankshaft. If it thats kind of setup remove the small bolts and the pulley should come off, you may need to use a wooden hammer etc to get it loose once the bolts are out.

How do you set the timing on a 1997 ford crown victoria?

You can not set timing on 97 CV. It is computer controlled. It does not have a distributor the PCM (computer) uses a signal from the crankshaft postion sensor mounted near the harmonic balancer to control timing.
