My dodge journey was scanned and code P760A came back, what does this mean?

its a shift solenoid problem in the autotrans--they wear over time and easy to replace--today electronic shiftn instead of vacuum is the norm----use new fluid or synthetic like amsoil to keep trans cool-heat causes the code to display--clear engine lite and see if it comes on again--if the issue is w the overdrive then ur ok for a while

Have a 2000 dodge dakota 3.9 2WD truck shifts great when check engine light is on but when you clear the codes it will not shift until the lite comes back on then its fine again. Dave

well if all ur doing is clearing the codes ur not to worried about what the actual problem is so just leave the light on but other then that find out what the code ur getting means an fix the problem an it will stop doing that just cause u clear the codes doesnt mean the problem goes away

Vehicle has reached a mileage where it requires some sort of servicing, such as oil change. Reset the light by pulling off the #13 fuse on the passenger side (check with owner manual just in case). If there is no vehicle malfunction, the light shouldn't come back on. Have in mind, that by pulling the fuse, you will erase all data from the ECU, such as recent malfunctions.

It means that there is a problem with the engine emission controls. A special Code Reader is required to find the problem. If you have an Advance Auto, Pep Boys or Auto Zone in your area, they will be glad to check it for free. Some Parts Stores also.

Battery is being drained. been told its wiper switch but not the one on steering colum but one under the dash.but i can not find any help welcome

if u have the book to the car, remove the positive cable hook test lite wire to negative post on battery touch test lite to positive cable(while cable is diconected from the batery) if u have something drawing the battery down it will lite ur testlite pretty brite(if the doors r open and dome lite is on it will lite ur test lite so CLOSE doors while performing this test also have keyoff) now ur test lite has got a brite lite, start removing fuses under the hood one by one until the test lite goes out thats ur circut thats drawing power look in owners manual to find out witch circuit that fuse it is. That'll give u an idea where to start looking for a short.

no lite showing doesnt mean car is healthy-scan car 1 or 2 times for bad codes-thinc of a cars system like ur pc--of course physical things like gas pump-injectors or tuneup may effect

Check Engine Light

sounds like you have a code for evap leak detected. thats why you have been told to change the gas cap. this means you have a vapour leak in your systam. check all line and hoses to and from gas tank for leak. the filler hose and lines may be leaking. good luck please rate this.

Doesnt wnat to start (1989 7.3 diesel)

hey buddy,,, does ur 350 have a WAIT TO START LITE,,,turn key on a start lite should lite wait till this lite goes out before cranking,,,engine should crank over about 5-6 turns and it should fire up,,,if it don't start , turn key off then on, lite should come on,wait until u hear the solenoid start 2 click, turn key off ,turn on again, lite will lite ,wait till u hear the solenoids click, turn 2 start,if it doesn't start rite up turn key off, grab a test lite 12 v,[ check ur glow plugs,] test lite, place clamp end on positive post of battery ,pull wire off of the individual glow plug, put the point of the test lite on the glow plug that the wire was attached to, if u have no lite the glow plug is no good,if the lite is dim the plug is on the way out ,if the lite is bright the plug is good, move 2 all 8 glow plugs,if there is 1 bad 1 the rest will not function proper,if u r going 2 replace any of them make SURE that they r the rite 1's cause there is 2 types[ don't let the parts guy tell u different[the wire end should not have 2 b altered 2 get it 2 plug on 2 the glow plug,take a sample if u need 2 replace,check the wire end that they r the same,,, tighten snug don't over do it, go through the steps above 2 start, should fire rite up , if it doesn't and u don't hear the solenoids click the controller is the next step, u should have 12 v at the + on ur controller,,, if not ur wiring 2 the controller is out[ fuse; wiring, ignition switch maybe at fault,if 12 v at the controller try the test lite at the glow plug terminal if this functions ur in good shape here,,,2 check and c if u have a lack of fuel[READ AND DO REAL CAREFULL]remove top of air cleaner,,a very short spurt of ether,,, 2 START,,turn the key rite over 2 start[don't activate the glow plugs as the ether may burn the tips off the glow plugs] should start immediately and stay running,,if it stalls,, try same again,,if it stalls again there is a fuel problem,,,check all lines and fittens,,check the mechanical lift pump,,, filters tight ,, bleed system,, remember those starters on these animals cost a p pot full of money so easy on the cranking time [easy on the tantrums keep asking questions and soneone will get u there,,, hope this gives u the help u need Len
