1995 passport troubleshoot slow leak in manual transmission

There is a seal on the input and output shaft and a seal on the top cover . A slow leak will have road dirt collecting on the leaking area. An input shaft leak will in time foul the clutch disk. An output seal will cause the drive shaft to be wet where it connects to the transmission.

Rebuilt trans installed in 2011. seal leaked in 2012 and was replaced. 2015 leaking again after 7000 miles. Why?

seals depend on a properly positioned shaft upon which they run
most people when reconditioning a transmission neglect to replace the output shaft ( drive shaft) bush in the transmission extension housing which allows the shaft to move concentric to the seal edge
the seal then cannot preform its duty as the seal surface is continually lost and so leaks
So it would appear that the bush is worn or in the case of transverse transmissions a possible failing bearing or bush

Transmission leaking through drive shaft

the rear seal on the tail shaft must have gotten damaged when you removed the shaft. it is available at any good parts store, easy to change. you have to pull the drive shaft back out, then you can use a small hook / prybar to pull the seal out, then tap the new one into place. pay close attention to the install height of the old seal before you remove it, so you know how far to drive the new seal in. good luck!

Leaking Tcase after replacing seal?

If you did not damage it during install, you may have a bad output bearing which is allowing shaft to move up & down, check shaft to see if it moves. Generally unless there is a pronounced groove in the yoke seal surface it will not leak. (I generally put a small amount of rtv black on outside of seal to prevent any seepage around outside.

My 1986 toyota cressida leaks transmistion fluid out bottom of car where drive line connects to transmisson the transmission is fine how do i fix it

Based on your description I am going to assume your leak is @ the rear of the transmission. If so, the leak would most likely be from the transmission output seal. To fix, you will have to remove the drive-shaft by unbolting it from the rear axle and sliding it rearward out of the transmission. Once the shaft is out of the way, you will need to remove the seal by inserting a pry bar or large screwdriver between the transmission output shaft and the seal lip and pop it out. Sometimes you may have to partially collapse the steel shell inward towards the center with a small chisel and hammer to releive the press fit. Drive the new seal into the bore and reinstall the driveshaft. Check fluid, road test and check for leaks after the road test.

Loosing oil on the output shaft of the transfer case, I changed the seal two times it's still leaking.

You may have pressure build up in the tranfer case and its going out the weakest spot which is the seals.Who changed the seals?Your transfer case may have a blocked breather if fitted
