I have a 2004 Saturn vue...I replaced starter last year...but about a week ago I had to turn the key on and off multiple times and then finally it wont start...battery is good startergood

It's possibly the ignition switch or the battery cable going to the starter . Would need to do some testing to say for sure . Can you do electrical testing ? Have someone turn the key to the start position and someone check for B+ voltage at the S terminal on the starter solenoid . If B+ voltage is there , voltage drop test the starter circuit . On my Saturn 2003 Ion, the starter makes an extremely loud noise upon turning key in the ignition. The problem is recent and literally sounds like something is going to disengage or break. Otherwise, car...

if noise is only when starting, consider replacing the starter. the mounting bolts could have some loose, or the clutch which disengages the starter gear is not retracting the gear. either situation could cause a loud noise of the starter gear clattering with the ring gear.

Turn key all light come on as a normal start. but when key is turned nothing happens. no noise nothing.. keep trying and eventully starts.Sometimes 3 or 4 times.. Sometimes 10 min. later. it can be days...

You didnt list the type of car this is, the most common thing that causes this is the starter, i just had a saturn, the customer had the same problem we told her it may be the starter but cant be 100% sure until it actted up, she didnt want to replace it unless we were sure, so we kept and drove the car around for 5 days and finally the last day it didnt start and it was the starter , same problem turn key and nothing no noise and no start, i would have the starter replaced and go from there, its a mater of time before the car just wont start, hope this is helpful.

Starting / Cranking is a problem: With key ignition, turn; there's a slient buzz noise. Head lights and dash board lights come on, however it doesn't respond to crank. Weak response is battery sometimes...

This could be a battery thats bad and doesnt have enough voltage or the starter is bad, easy to figure out, have the battery tested if its bad then replace it but if it tests good then i would replace the starter and also have the charging system checked to make sure the alternater is charging the battery up. hope this is helpful.

Replaced starter did tuneup and replaced tensioner and serpintine belt on 1993 Saturn SL2 Replaced starter Car does not want to start, but when it does start, it will not stay running. Please help

Your starter is probably fine if it does eventually start. The problem you seem to be having is the hard start part and the not stay running part.

Chances are your Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS) has not been replaced. The one from the factory is plastic and cracks which tells the PCM that the engine is -40F (40 degrees below zero). The fix is to get the brass tipped one from Autozone or the like and to replace it. It is a 10 minute job and requires a 13MM deep well socket. It is on the driver's side of the head and is under the intake tubing. You have two on your Saturn but you only need to replace one, the other is for the gauge cluster. Replace the two wire one.

This cracked ECTS causes the PCM to dump a lot of fuel into the engine thinking it needs to get warm. However, too much fuel will make the car near impossible to start.

01 kia optima stalled and wont start...starter just clicks

It seems the starter is playing up.First check if your battery is charged fully or try to jump start and see what happens. If the engine start then it's either you need a new battery or else you need a replacement alternator.Test using a voltmeter if the actual altenator is working. Finally the last option is the starter motor that needs changing or fixing...Hope this helps.

'95 Saturn SL1 Intermittent Starting Problem

this is caused by burnt starter solenoid contacts, U can either replace the starter solenoid contacts (about $15) or u can replace the entire starter.
