You need either a 14, 15, 16, or 17 mm wrench or socket. You just turn the belt tensioner to where it will loosen the belt, And then take the belt off. Do the same thing to get the belt on. It should look like either of these, DEPENDING ON WHAT MOTOR YOU HAVE. what to use to change - dy89302.jpg

To make it easier to get to the tensioner, move the coolant recovery tank out of the way by removing the two nuts on the top of the tank.

What is the routing for serpentine belt for 2006 buick lacrosse

basically the grooves go on the grooved pulleys and the back of the belt runs on the idler pulleys
there are about 3 different configurations for belts as they run nor power steering / power steering, ac and no ac systems so to get a picture you will have to comment on what is running and the motor size

Serpentine belt tensioner pull

Belts only drive the water pump and other accessories and do not cause overheating. Have a pressure test done on the cooling system. Have a compression test done to check for head gasket or cracked head. Have a flow test done to check for blocked cores in radiator .check external fins of radiator to see if they are flaking off. Flushing radiators doesn't work because once the cores are blocked up there is no way to un block them. If you have a viscous fan hub have it check out as they stop driving after a period of time.

How to change serpentine belt on 2006 buick lacrosse

Start by drawing a diagram of the belt routing. Serpentine belts normaly have 1 spring loaded tensioner (1 pully will have a nut or 3/8 or 1/2 inch drive hole) That will be the tensioner. get spanner or ratchet to fit & lever the tensioner away from the belt. Remove belt. fit new belt to most pullys except the easiest to get to, lever the tenioner back & fit the belt to the last pully, Check the belt is on all pullys properly & your done

Cant find the power steering refill resevoir

As you are looking at the engine from the front, it is at the back left, a little under and inside the rear serpentine belt pullies. It's hard to see, but if you look from the inside, down the back of the motor by the firewall toward the belt pullies, you should be able to find it. It is more difficult to access if it with a turbo.

I have a 2006 Buick LaCross, what service do I need at 52000 miles

At 50,000 miles generally involves an oil and filter change, tire rotation, and a safety inspection. A visual inspections of the brakes, belts and hoses, inspecting for any fluid leaks, listening for any abnormal noises, and paying attention to any irregularities in the operation of the vehicle. You may want to consider replacing the serpentine belt because they are somewhat inexpensive.
