Question about 2009 Pontiac Vibe

1 Answer

I have a 2009 pontiac vibe with a radio that seems to ONLY work when the key is in the ACC mdoe. When I start the car, the radio and display goes off completely. When I press the Clock button the times comes on, so I know atleast that the radio is getting power. I have removed the head unit to check all the connections in the back and they are fine. What could be possible issues?? Thank You, Chris

Incorrectly wired, the supply going to the main power goes to the ACC only and not the main power or the ignition switch is faulty if nothing else works like blower etc.

SOURCE: Can't see anything on the clock/Radio Display

the radio display is lighted by a tiny bulb inside the radio, to change this u must remove the radio from the dash and take off the top sheet metal cover, under that u will see a small twist in bulb socket, replace that little bulb, the bulb is about $2 and avail at any full sevice auto parts store.

SOURCE: 2000 pontiac bonneville wont start

It sounds like a bad connection somewhere, check the battery cable connections for corrosion and tightness, both ends. It could be the starter, starter solenoid, starter relay, neutral safety switch or ignition. Try moving the shift lever to the "N" position and see if that helps. When you say you have a dead key, do you mean you have no dash lights, (oil pressure light, battery light, things of that nature) no clicking, no nothing?

How do I program a transponder key for the ignition in a 2009 Pontiac Vibe?

first the first digit must start with the number 1,or 4 of your 17 digit number for this to work.so fit your chip key in your ignition.
1, insert the key in your ignition turn the key to on for 10 min 30 seconds
2, within 45 seconds turn the key to off then back on for 10 min 30 seconds
3, within 45 seconds turn the key to off ,then back on for 10 min 30 seconds then back on for 10 min 30 seconds.
then after 10 min 30 seconds turn off then on .then start the engine.

Why did my pntiac vibe lose power while i was driving the radio turn off the gauges stop working and the engine lost power

The battery may only be 3 1/2 years old, but the factory
batteries seem to fail early in life

Check to see if has at least 12.5 volts across the terminals

I think you lost the battery & then the computer module went down,
as you turned into the driveway

If you only have 12.2 volts, don't try and charge it,replace it

If it does start ,check voltage again with engine running
The alternator has to output over 14 volts to charge a 12 volt
battery.
