Sounds like you need to take it back to where you got that fuel pump changed. Sounds like a faulty fuel pump thats already trying to give up on you. Hope this helps, James Booth

did your car come equipped with prolock? prolock starter kill can become defective and prevent your car from starting. or it can be your ignition switch. I had a defective ignition switch and the van 's fuel pump would turn on but no start...

Transmission replaced on 1994 Suburban - now its not getting any fuel, acts like it wants to stall!

Could also be a clogged inline fuel filter. If there is one, it may have gotten crud knocked loose in the fuel lines or tank during the ****** repairs. Also look for a smashed or collapsed fuel line. It should be very visible if damage done during the ****** work. Have another mechanic look at it first, NOT the ****** shop, as they may be just looking for additional $$. Listen for the sound of the fuel pump motor whirring when you turn the key on, just short of starting the engine. It will only run for a few seconds before shutting off if the engine hasn't been started, but it is detectable by ear.

Car starts, then dies shortley thereafter. Relay? bad plugs? already checked fuel pump. any advise? what's a "inurtia" (sp) switch?

It's probably not the inertia switch which kills the fuel pump totally. It's in the trunk and you reset it by pushing down the red button.
I'm rusty on that old car,but my Dad had one.GREAT CARS! Safe when wrecked, too!Ha,Ha!!!
A vacuum leak will kill a car after fast idling is over at start-up, but there is probably an electrical solenoid acting up( IATC solenoid?), in the air plenum or at the throttle plate..It's somewhere in that area,I'd say. don-ohio

My truck was running just fine then all of a sudden wouldnt start.. its acting like its not getting gas but its turning over, just not starting.. sounds like a fuel pump?

change the filter first,, if that doesn't work, then spray some carb cleaner into the intake, ( or throttle body , and turn it over, if it runs as long as you spray ( don't use to much) then its probably going to be your fuel pump

1994 gmc surburban turns over fine but engine won't start

You can check to see if the fuel pump is bad..Remove gas cap and listen into tank while another person turns key on.If you here a buzzing noise the fuel pump is most likely OK...If you don't here anything Check owners manual for fuse location and check to see if there are any blown..There is also a fuel relay fuse under the hood

Stopped and engine died. will crank, but won't start

With out starting the jeep turn the key forward with the window down and see if you hear a wherlling or humming sound coming out of your gas tank, that is the sound of the fuel pump kicking on if you do not here that then it is fuel pump related, then check fuel pump fuse, relay or safty shut of swich. or you could have to replace the fuel fillter if you do here the sound out of the fuel tank.

The fuel pump will not kick on when u try to start

The fuel pump itself is most likely the problem, but there's a fuel pump relay and a fuse.
