Question about 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Basic Problem: Not Enough Power to Fuel Pump. Make: Chevrolet Model: Silverado 1500 Year: 2000 Engine: Gasoline 4.8L V-8 Fuel Pump Type: TCF (2 Connector) Multimeter Type: Analog - 17 range Multimeter (for tests) I replaced the OEM Fuel Pump with an AirTex TCF fuel pump. This pump came with a wiring harness (pig tail) to replace the original connection for the adapter that supplied the fuel pump power. I am going to number/bullet my problem to make it more organized. I am trying to figure out what to test next. Only looking for replies that are based on some real experience with Chevy Trucks. (I have access to plenty of wild speculation.) Please, let me know if you need more information. 1. Old Fuel Pump Quit while car was idling. 2. Old Fuel Pump removed and tested directly off battery power. No Start. No Activity from motor. 3. New Fuel Pump installed in tank. (Airtex TCF Fuel Pump with New Pigtail Wiring Harness to replace OEM harness.) 4. Fuel Filter Replaced. 5. Fuel Relay Replaced. 6. Fuel Pump Fuse Replaced. 7. Battery Charged to Full. 8. Test Voltage at Battery 12V. 9. Test Voltage at End of Wiring Harness >12 Volts. (I have an analog multimeter, so I estimate the Voltage to be between 7V-8V. 10. Test Voltage at Pigtail Splice > 12V (appr. 7V-8V) 11. Fuel Gauge seems fine. The old pump gave no reading new pump sends reading to gauge. Questions: A.) How can I increase the voltage to my pump within the system? B.) What other tests do I need to perform? C.) Fuel Pump Relays are installed per the positions shown in the fuse panel cover (30Pin in Far Right Corner when facing vehicle from Driver Side.) However, every photo I have seen online of fuse panels shows the Fuse Relay Number 8567 on the opposite side. My fuse diagram on the inside of the fuse panel cover shows the 30PIN in the upper right corner. The images I see online would have the 30 in the lower right corner. (That's a bit confusing.) Examples: (The Top 8567 is for Fuel Pump)

GM in thier wisdom grounded the fuel pump at the right tail light. I find that if you run another ground wire from the frame to the ground point in the tail light, it usually clears up the pump problems

You can't increase voltage , sounds like bad pump or bad ground

2000 silverado problems

Common problem on that model chevy. Check the fuel regulator to make sure is not leaking. Allow it to run for a few minutes and shut it off then pull the vacuum line off of it. If there is fuel in there that it is leaking. If that checks out it will most likely be the fuel pump. If you cycle the key a few time then it starts fine it will be the pump

I just put a fuel pump in my 2000 chevy silverado 2 weeks ago and now it wont run and all the fuel pump will do is click when you turn the key on but it only clicks once?

spray gasoline or carb cleaner into intake. If engine starts, it's a fuel problem. You have a bad (new) fuel pump or relay. Either no power to pump or pump is bad (unlikely but possible).

I have a 2000 chevy silverado with a 5.3 v-8 I am not getting power to the fuel pump module the relay is good and the fuse is also good any ideas.

If you have'nt tried to start it with the wrong key setting a security violation then you probably need a crank position sensor.
