Question about 2001 Kia Optima

2 Answers

2001 hyundai optima V6 auto shifts late. Has the following codes: p1505 u0d00 p1507 p0123 p0449 p0118. I believe I have a communications problem with the tcm and the problem is also giving the pcm bad sensor readouts. Where and what color is the bus wire to the tcm? The codes are for all the sensors on top of the engine. Got the car to start missing once but it came out of it. The car shifts at about 4k and won't shift any sooner. Well shift higher tho if you stomp it. I've been tracing wires but haven't found anything yet. I'm an experienced tech but this one is stumping me and am trying to avoid them having to take it to a dealer

I would check the torque converter sensor. Either it is sticking or it is mis-configured. Could be the CPU starting to go out. Your CPU SHOULD be under the front passenger seat inside a plastic casing. Look for chars or raised caps(capacitors) as these could cause the hesitation you are describing.

TCM and PCM, might be in the center dash under the radio area, but from the codes you gave, I would say it's more than likely a grounding problem causing communication problems.

ZERO out your ECM (wipe out all 'adaptives'). disconnect both battery post connectors and tough them together for 30 seconds. Afterward, reconnect them to the battery... see what happens

What could be the problem my 2001 Hyundai santa fe has a code u0d00 and the car will not go over 20mph ?

This code usually (not all the time) but usually occurs when there is a low voltage condition (dead or near dead battery). However, this code is also associated with communication with the transmission control module.

I have a 2001 hyundai elantra that has a error code of U0D00 what is the explanation?

Go to this URL: http://www.hyundai-forums.com/138-trajet-forum/89493-trajet-error-code-u0d00.html

It appears that another Hyundai owner had the same problem and sorted it out himself. U0D00 seems to be the Mass Airflow meter (sensor). Replace it and see how it performs. Good luck.

My 2001 Santa Fe failed inspection because of OBDII codes U0D00 No DTC Definition Located P0118 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit High Input Anyone know what needs to be fixed?

Hi,
it wouild appear from your description that the engine coolant sensor is developing values in excess of it's set parameters.

Having said that. I would check the connection to the sensor to ensure there is no high resistance, clean the connection anway, refit it, then have a local auto parts shop re-check the codes for you. If the code read-out remains the same. IIt would indicate a faulty coolant sensor.

Good luck.
