My check engine light is on and it idles really low at about 300 rpms and dies. i have to keep one foot on the gas and one on the brake to keep it going. went to autozone and had them hook it up to the scanner, and it said "results too lean" no idea what that means and neither do they. i will say i just had a tune up and my ignition coil replaced.

Your not getting enough gas through your fuel injectors. You could have a bad fuel pressure regulator, or just a dirty fuel injector. But if worse comes to worse, You have a bad fuel pump. But I promise you, it's one of the three. :)) Probably just a dirty fuel injector. Hope this helps, James Booth

We just got a 2004 Chevy Express. When you start it and put it in gear, it dies. The battery appears dead and you can jump start it.

IAC - idle air control problem possibly .( You can drive it if you use your left foot to brake but keep the gas pedal down to keep the RPMs up.) Wouldn't be a fuel filter , if fuel filter was clogged partly it would idle ,but would lack power ,low fuel pressure at higher speed's . Do you know what IAC valve is ,an how it works ?
Idle Air Control Valve
Or maybe the EGR valve pintle is covered with carbon an sticking open .
Or possibly a dirty or bad MAF sensor - mass air flow sensor - the PCM - engine computer needs info from this sensor so it know's how much fuel to feed the engine .
Hooking up a professional type scan tool to view engine sensor data cut's down on guessing as too what the problem is .

Idles roughly, then low when stopped or in park, then dies. Decreasing gas mileage. Slow to accelerate

Sometimes that's caused by a vacuum leak near the manifold area.

Sometimes air in the coolant will cause an idle problem. Air will keep the air temp sensor from sending proper info.
Hope this helps.

98 ford escort zx2 dies when it drops below 1000 rpms

I doubt the two problems are related.
The computer uses an idle speed control valve to regulate idle speed. The valve controls the amount of air entering the intake.
You should have a check engine light on and also a stored trouble code for the valve. It could also be a problem with the throttle plate in the throttle body.

My 1999 Lexus RX 300 suddenly will not maintain an idle when I remove my foot from the accelerator. It runs fine otherwise but it will no longer start and maintain an idle if I do not keep my right foot on...

could be the idle air control valve. if you remove your air intake tubing and can see into the throttle body just check to see if its dirty. if it is try to clean it with an aerosol spray can of carby cleaner. good luck.

2000 jeep grand V8 low idle then dies

A faulty gas cap can cause the sensor to come on.
Clean out the throttle body with a cleaner and see if the idle improves.
