Question about 2001 Volkswagen Cabrio
My check engine light will not go off--what do I do?? 2001 Cabrio.
Go to an autozone to get the codes read then google the codes to see what the fixes are. I had a light for three years that wouldn't go off. After many $s i found the fix on google, clean the throttle body. it took 15 minutes and they (auto shops) wanted a grand.

Bring it to any Auto Zone parts shop. They will read the codes - for free (Most repair shops charge like $90 for this), write down what it is and see if it's either legit or really important. O2 sensor is very common. This one is not a biggie.
They can then clear the codes....my suggestion is, try that and if it continues to come up soon after, have the repair done.
One io the "issues" was air senor...something had nested in where the air filter was...long ago.

Check engine light goes, on and off all the time in this car a Necco waffer, takes care of the problem. Sometimes I have the trunk light, gas light and check engine light on at the same time, I feel like I hit the lottery, there isnt anything wrong. I thought the car was made in Germany, but it was made in Mexico.
