Trunk latch locked - 1997 Toyota Camry

Bought the car used but the key will not open the trunk. I've tried the internal trunk lever near the driver's seat, and nothing, as well. I have three keys for the car and not one of them will open the trunk.

I can't get either of my keys to unlock the trunk- I bought the car used and it's possible that I don't have the master key. How do I get one?

It seems someone has activated the lock release lever security. This prevents entry into the boot from inside the car as a security measure. You do need the master key which is the key that works in every lock not just ignition ie glove box. Cheers Nick

Trunk latch is not lock even with the slam the trunk down hard.

it sounds as if the locking latch on the rear panel has been distorted with the heavy load, smother the lock on the trunk with grease and gently lower down and see where the grease leaves a mark , this way you can see where the latch on the rear panel should be , both the lock on the trunk and the latch on the rear panel have some adjustment so you will have to adjust both until they line up again

Any repair shop (body shop or auto repair shop) should be able to handle trunk repair. You may want to look through your local yellow pages. Have you tried spraying a lubricant into the latch assembly, sometimes it help to lube it and use a screw driver to flip latch/lock to locked position and then release with key or trunk release button several times. Rust is prone to jam locks and latches. Most local auto parts stores carry these latches in stock, and it is relatively easy to change out. Let me know if you need further help.

Chrysler sebring trunk lock wont latch and stay shut and locked

On the Sebring, there is a small switch on the trunk where it latches. Right in the middle, there is a small button you can push, which will allow the trunk door to shut. It just needs reset. Right where it goes down to lock at.

My trunk latch won't open and I want to know how to access my trunk from the back seat.

Your trunk latch is coupled with the rear door lock, push the door lock down then lift it up, do not use the auto lock/unlock. It should release the trunk lock, I had the same problem.

The trunk opens but the latch wont lock when you close the trunk

Hi,
Open the trunk (that won't lock !!! ) and try to lock the hooked type latch with a screwdriver shaped tool. This will duplicate the latch locking mechanism in the trunk floor and give you a visual indication of the problem (MOST LIKELY THE LOCK ASSY).
Good Luck

I accidentally pulled the interior trunk release of 2008 volkswag

Try a screw driver, and release the trunk release at the same time and unsnap the latch, the latch thinks it is closed, because the latch never opened back up to allow the striker to go in it and trigger the latch to close, the latch is in closed mode, you will have to manually unlatch the latch sort of speak.
