Question about 2001 Ford F150 Styleside SuperCrew

Ac vent problem

A/c stopped blowing out dash vents...only blows air on floor and defrost vents. Read that I should check vacuum canister and hoses. Is the vacuum reserve canister on a 2001 F-150 under the battery tray? I don't see any vac lines coming out from under battery tray.

The vacuum canister is located under the battery tray on this model truck, however the most common problem are the vacuum lines that run around the battery box. usually the battry will leak acid at some point in time and create holes in the small hard plastic lines. i would remove the battery and check the vacuum lines first.

2007 merc grand marquis heater air comes out all of the vents and very little out of the defrost vents

Check to make sure the engine vacuum is getting to the heater/ac control. Bad vacuum hose or leak. Many vehicles use engine vacuum to move heater doors and controls. When the vacuum is absent, it usually defaults to air blowing out the AC vents.

u have a loss of vacuum to the ac mode control switch, this switch applies vacuum to diff vacuum motors to move air to diff outlets, dash, floor, defrost etc. either the vacuum line or vacuum resivior at the engine is leaking or the mode control is leaking vacuum.

Nothing blows out dash vents, but will blow out thru defrost nad floor vents on 1999 buick PA with dual auto air controls

check for a vacuum leak in the hose going to the heater controls. Goes from engine compartment, through firewall, into dash to control head. Also, has a vacuum storage canister under hood. When system fails, it defaults to defrost.
