Question about 1994 Chevrolet Camaro

My 95 z28 camaro a/c stop blowing cold air. I narrowed the problem to the comp.clutch not engaging, relays are ok put jumper on a/c relay and it engages,I was wondering without tearing the dash apart to check the switch if i should look somewhere else that might cause the problem.because it was working fine never touch the switch just shut off the car then next day i started the car it didnt work.should i switch the a/c off so there's not that draw on the switch when i start the car.any help you could give would be much appreciated.thank you, Sean PHX,AZ.

I had the same problem, turned out to be the alternator... there is a very sensitive element in the control module that prevents the A/C from engaging if it senses low voltage from the alternator. Do a complete check on the battery / alternator system. Unfortunately my problem has returned three years later - I think the Computer module finally died :(

Check refrigerant level. AC will not engage if sensors indicate low refrigerant pressure.

A/C COMP Relay - try replacing the A/C compressor clutch relay # 38 in under hood fuse / relay box . ! Could be shorting out after hot . I don't won't to get to technical on you, doing voltage drop testing on the circuit . If not relay the compressor clutch coil could be going bad when heating up . There are videos on you tube , testing A/C compressor clutch relay .

A/C compressor spins, but why is there no cold air?

You may need a shop manual to get the wiring diagrams and test procedures.
The ac compressor gets power from several sources and those would need to be checked. The control on the dash, the low and high pressure switches, the relay, and so on.
If the compressor is ok, you should be able to jumper the clutch like you did and feel one line cold and the other line warm if freon is flowing thru the system.

Help 2008 ford fusion heater and ac stopped working

1) TEST the fuse+ relar of a/c
see the next steps and fix it. God bless you
If so, the compressor is working and the A/C system probably contains enough refrigerant to make cold air, so the problem is inside the HVAC unit. Replace the motor that controls the blend air door (this is a difficult job and best left to a professional since it involves tearing apart the HVAC unit -- about an 8 to 10 hour job!).
If the compressor does not engage when you turn on the A/C, see if it will run by jumping the compressor clutch wire directly to the battery (use a fused jumper wire). If the compressor works when you jump it, and the A/C blows cold air, the system contains refrigerant and the fault is likely a bad A/C compressor clutch relay or a bad clutch cycling switch or pressure switch.
If the compressor does not engage when you jump it, the problem is a bad compressor clutch.
If the clutch engages but the compressor does not turn (the belt will start to slip and squeal), the compressor is locked up and you need a new compressor.
If the compressor clutch engages and turns the compressor, but the A/C still does not blow cold air, the system is probably low on refrigerant and needs to be recharged

A/c clutch is not kicking on in 1994 E320

How do you know the freon charge is not low ?
If the system is full, you should be able to jumper the relay and make the compressor clutch engage.
If not, the problem could be the low pressure switch or the clutch.

98 z28 air pump relay code comes up, replaced relay fuse, still blows fuse and chck eng lite still on

you need to have it hooked up to a computer and checked. and the brain needs reset. then the check engine light will go off. as for the air relay thats probably a naked ground wire touching somewhere in the motor. you need to find it and check. if not your air pump and breather needs to be changed.

I have a Ford F-250, the air conditioning works for about 15 minutes when you turn it on and then it cuts out and blows out warm air. Is this a relay problem?

Yes,

The cooling fan for the condensor or radiator is not coming on. The system is getting to hot because of this and building pressure. Then cuts off.

I would have the a.c system check for leaks and recharged. Then check the cooling fan and relay.

Very common problem.

AC not blowing cold air/ clutch not engaging

you might wanna check your a/c relay and make sure its good if that's fine you might just have to get another compressor also by a refrigerant with dye so you can make sure there's not a leak in your a/c lines
