I have a 2004 Kia Optima and it left me stranded on the road, came to a complete stop, I turned off the ignition then turn the key again and it started up fine. It had happen a couple of weeks ago and seem to be running fine till now. The speedometer works occasionally, cruise control does not work and the engine light is always on. Looking for solutions.

You need to have the codes checked. when you cycled the key , you were resetting the ECM. This didn't fix the problem. Get the codes and let me know. We can go from there. There are to many things to list that can shut down engines. And you don't need to buy expensive parts that you don't need.

Is this an automatic? P1527, Basically, the tcm is telling the pcm to turn on the lite. You could have tranny problems? Could be issue with transmission range sensor? I saw a service bulletin, kt2007020701, that is a relearn procedure, if the pcm--tcm or transmission has been replaced. I don't know if relearn will help or not?

Where is the location of the ignition sensor on 2004 kia optima lx 4 cyclinder 4 door sedan

the ignition module is to the left of the air filter, right against the right side of the engine. I replaced mine, just two screws and take off black plastic covering. Make sure u disconnect negative battery post first. When done hook negative back up. If engine light don"t go off for P0320 code, disconnect battery for 5 min and connect back, I let my battery stay disconnect overnight.

Key won't turn in ignition on a Kia Optima

this problem is caused by one of the tiny little pins that are used to code the lock getting stuck, u can try getting some powdered Graphite lock cylinder lube to try and free it up, if that doean't do it you will need to replace the ignition lock cylinder, don't use anthing but dry lock lube, WD 40 or any kind of oily spray will make the problem worse in the long run. Lock lube is avil from any hardware store like ACE or Home Depot

I hit a small bump. My car cut off and would not start back. It will turn over but will not crank.

hi its probably the fuel cut off switch. in an impact an enerchia switch will cut off the fuel pump. your local dealer will tell you where its fitted and its just a push of the switch and away it will go.
