Sounds like it might be the distributor. the distributor when bad heats up, then shuts off the car and will take hours to cool enough for the car to start again. hope this helps, goodluck.

Replaced the k134 car cuts off after engine gets hot. guessing 40 minutes of driving

The battery in most cars is used only for starting and operating electrics when the engine is not running.

After that, the alternator provides power to operate ignition and electric systems - and of course; recharge the battery. A faulty battery shouldn't cause the car to stop running. If the alternator is not functioning properly, the car will get power from the battery instead. When this happens, the voltage will drop quickly - depending on how many electrical accessories are on, etc. You will notice headlights becoming dim at night just before the engine quits. The car would not be able to start / run until the battery is recharged.

'99 Ford Crown Vic LX: #12 30A Maxi fuse blows seconds after starting or ignition turned on.

i had this problem with my 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo with the brake lights it kept popping fuses right after the ignition was turned on try putting a higher amp fuse in place of the old one that keeps blowing then check for shorts to the starter and check grounds and wires and also the transmission issue check the fluid and then if the fluid is fine change the transmission filter the filter may have not gotten replaced when the transmission was rebuilt and may be clogged or dirty

Engine suddenly quits with no warning

Without knowing where the sound is coming from, theres no way to know if it is important.
Is it possible the noise is the ac clutch, and the ac compressor is locking up and killing the engine ?

Air conditioner compressor seems to quit after 1 to 2 hours driving-blower stll runs, but cold air stops green compressor lite is still on, but no cold air-turn off ac for 20 to 30 minutus, comes back on...

Sounds like the air gap on the compressor clutch is to wide, when the compressor turns off to recycle the electromagnet on the clutch is not strong enough to pull the air gap and lock up compressor. The air gap is adjustable and should be checked.

1999 dodge ram 1500 5.2 dies while driving

Dodges have a high rate of failure in the engine ecu. If you can find you 5v supply that feeds the sensors. Ohm it to ground If it dose ohm out (shorted to ground) unplug your ecu and recheck.

Goes 5 miles and dies

Does it start right back up?if it does does it run another five miles. Does the car seem to be too hot? Is the check engine light on with the engine running? If the lights on get the codes read and follow their lead. over heating is in the five mile range as is the fuel tank not getting air in to let the fuel flow out. The exhaust can be stopped up but if it does restart after quitting it'll runn only a short time before it quits again. Driving the car harder will make it quit sooner as will warmer weather.

1991 Plymouth Acclaim stalls

One of the more common problems with the 2.5L & 2.2L engines that suffered the symptoms your describing, such as, starts & runs good, then at any given time would just quit, not start, but after sitting a while, or by the time the mechanic gets to it, it starts right up, or you sit on the side of the road for 20 min. or half hour then away it goes for a while longer, then quits again down the road. There is a pick-up plate under the distributor cap & rotor, with the wiring plug coming from it. 90% of the time, it's defective, and cuts out especially, but not limited to, more often when weather is hot.
