Dont know what kind of brakes i need

go to auto parts store and tell them the make and model of the car, they will give you the correct brake pads.
the following link is for how to change the disc pad.http://cars.ign.com/articles/683/683863p1.html
and for the drum brake, go to the following link
http://video.google.com/videosearch?hl=en&ei=kkn7SdbYD8G6mQfogtzSBA&resnum=0&q=how+to+change+drum+brake+pad&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=lEn7SdX6OJ3fmQf9vuSkBA&sa=X&oi=video_result_group&resnum=4&ct=title#

you don't need to find the correct car, although that will be ideal, but all disc and drum brake are the same. so, take a look at the video or the writeup then tackle the job.
