The transmission in your Navigator is a ZF 6-speed(german transmission company) and the PRNDL sensor is internal.The transmission should not have to be removed to service the part , but the valve body of the transmission will need to be and this is not a job for a novice.The truck will need to be towed to a dealer or capable repair shop and have the switch diagnosed and a repair preformed.Good Luck!

does it work only one side or does not work at all? if neither side work then first try to check the fuse.
check the emergency lights to see if they are working, if not then check the flasher under the dash.
if the flasher work then it could be your multi-function switch.

check the relay #303 if its burned or damaged and you can buy it at an auto parts if that relay is not the problem check the rest of the relay just to make sure they are working properly hope that this can help with your problems

You're shifter indicator appears to need attention. The PRNDL = Park - Reverse = Neutral - Drive - Low
These are the gears. You need to have a high end electronic pc test and see what error code it is 'throwing'
