There is going to be a tensioner pulley near the front of the motor on top that you have to apply pressure to or you can loosen the alternator and take it off that way, just remember how it came off so you can put it back on

I have what sounds like a squeaky bearing sound at any speed. Varies with RPM. Looking for likely culprits.

you're on the right track, removing the serpentine belt and manually rotating/ spinning the pulleys listening for a dragging, or grinding. If its very bad you may even see a outward movement. hope this helps!

What causes a pulley on a serpentine belt to stop turning and how can I fix the issue?

The bearings on the idler or tensioner pulley have given up. No cheap fix here. You should fix it now or be prepared to fix a few more things later.

Alternator replacement.

I have done this on my 1993 skylark

1. DISCONNECT NEGITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL!!!!!

2. using a 1/2in drive ratchet (or 3/8 drive on some models) koosen the belt tensioner and remove ther serpentine belt from the alternator pulley

3. remove 2 alternator retaining bolts on either side of pulley

4. disconnect pos. and neg. battery connectors

5. remove alternator

installation is the reverse of removal

In order to replace the serpentine belt on a 1994 Buick Skylark It appears that something has to be removed in order to remove the belt and replace it. What exactly has to be removed?

Nothing has to be removed. Just relieve the tension on the belt and it will come off. Find the tensioner pulley and pry it back. Look for a square hold where you insert a 1/2" ratchet. If you find none look for a way to pry it back. All you have to do is relieve the tension.

I need a diagram for installing a serpentine belt on a 94 buick skylark Or I need to know where the tensioner is located and once i release the tensioner will i be able to slip the belt around the pulley...

the tensioner will be one of the idler pulleys ,abd then you fit the new belt but make sure you draw a picture of the belt run before remove it

I replaced the water pump and cut the old serpentine belt out that was tangled around the pulleys Now I cannot figure out how to get the motor mount off to get it up around the alternator pulley

Here's a link to a web site to give you a diagram for your serpentine. Just insert the year, make, model, and engine size. Once there, you will see to the left a link below the part number called "Routing diagram". Best of luck on your repair.

Changing the serpentine belt

Your vehicle has an automatic belt tensioner. It should be located near the other pullies because the belt runs over it too. Usually required is a ratchet or box end wrench to work it. Once you get the wrench on the pulley, pull the tensioner loose to remove the belt and the reverse to replace it. The vehicle should have a routing diagram for the belt.
I believe the belt diagram is on the left corner on the passenger side.
Good luck and hope this helps

All the bolts are off the pump but it still want slide off it seem like the gear is stoping it from sliding off

3.1? there are 5 bolts. 2.3,4 there are 3 water pump to the timing chain housing nuts, then 5 water pump bolts. 3.3 after removing belt idler pulley must be removed. the water pump pulley bolts. and the pump mounting bolts. Figure out which engine you have first. hope this helps, rick
