Does it turn over? if it clicks and then stops really fast, it's your starter. don't worry, if it's the 4.0L it's an easy fix. 3 bolts and a hundred bucks and you'll be on your way. however, if all the interior electronics work, but when you turn the key nothing happens, you need to go through and clean all the electrical grounds and battery connecters. it happened to me (ironically my starter went out too) but that is the general problem. 1st gen grand cherokees are notorious for bad grounds.

With a 94 jeep grand cherokee will start, but the minute you let off the gas it dies

Sounds like the classic IAC motor, when these start failing they will not turn on the engine light. These give you a start stall symptom.

2000 jeep grande cherokee, will start if i jump it off, but when i give it gas, it idles down and stalls out

Check your charging system. Jumping will put a slight surface charge on the battery but that will only last as few minutes. If system is not charging, you will drop below operating voltage and the engine will then stall after disconnection jumpers.
