Some temperature increase in traffic is normal, the car is equipped with electric cooling fans the on-board computer tracks the engine temperature and when the temperature gets over 222 degrees it will turn on the cooling fans and when the temperature drops below 199 degrees it will turn the fans off, most cars wile driving at speed will not need the fans on because there is enough air coming threw the grill of the car with out the fans to maintain the engine temperature below 222 degrees, but when you slow down and get into traffic there is not enough air coming threw the grill to maintain the engine temperature below 222 degrees so the computer will turn on the cooling fans. as long as the temperature does not go over around 230 degrees wile driving in traffic the car is fine but if the temperature goes over 230 degrees then you need to check the electric cooling fan system, it could be that there is a bad fan motor or fan relay.
let the car idle until it is over 222 degrees and make sure the fans cycle on and off if not have the fan motors tested.
please let me know if there is any thing else i can do for you.
