It isnt hard, just have to rekey the new cylinder...basically you can order new pins from gm, and then take out your old cylinder and remember what order they go in, they are numbered, so you put in the new switch and then do the relearn process for the security, good to go.
I have a 2001 Monte Carlo, and have gotten the ignition switch fixed two months ago, including having to get the security system reset in result of this and am now having the same problem again, it almost seems as if the key doesnt want to turn
key does not turn to start...
