Same thing! I had my battery checked and they unhooked the cables. My CD player started freaking out as soon as it was hooked back up. It kept trying to change disks and couldn't. Then it wouldn't let me take them out and it said there is no disc 6 (which there is)....is there no way to fix this piece of ****!?!?

Yeah dude that happened to me, i put subs in my 05 g6, it supposedly happens when the battery dies or u undo the batter, so i took it too a dealership and they tried making me pay $30 for them to tell me it doesn't work so being the angry person i gave them a few choice words and got out of the nice 30 bucks but they will make u pay for a new stock system for a nice $350 bucks which i told them to go screw themselves and i put the dash kit in so i could read the mpg temp and all that and just put a dvd player in it was better and looks better. and to get ur discs out u pull the stock system out get a screw driver and pliers and start taking the junk apart to get them

it is always cheaper to buy a working used one from a junkyard than to fix the old one. look around on eBay, craigslist, and junkyards. recyclers pull the radios and owners manuals out of cars and pile them in the office. so call around to local junkyards looking for a recent pontiac with CD player. you will most likely have to take a sawzall to your old one to get your discs out, but CDs are old tech now anyway. you should be able to get one for under 50 bucks, if you are not handy stereo install shops take them out and put them in very quickly and cheaply and are yet another source for used OEM stereos.

There may, or, may not be a small pinhole in the front panel of the changer. If it does have this hole, take a paper clip and insert it straight into the hole and this will enable manual ejection of the disk tray. If the hole is not there than the housing has to be removed to gain acess to the disks. Thank you, Dana

My battery died now disc player says no discs please help?

Very tricky, my suggestion is to restart the radio again see if it reads the CDs this time. Try removing the radio fuse, where all the other fuses are at. Turn the radio on without the fuse, press and hold a button for a minute just to make sure you drain the electricity from the changer. Then put the fuse back and see what happens. You can also disconnect the negative or ground from the battery wait five minutes and connect it again but this will also restart the car computer.

This is a common CD changer we see in shop for repair, see www.carstereohelp.com However, before thinking of repair, disconnect one of the main car battery terminals for several minutes then reconnect. This is easier then removing the stereo and reinstalling and acts as a reset for the changer. Otherwise, repair.

CD player (6 disc changer) "locked up"

Take it to the dealership, your G35 should have a 4 year bumper to bumper on it. They'll replace the radio under warranty most likely.
