My 2003 suburban would start for a second then cut out, seemed like no fuel flow, after several attemps, with the same ending, I tried removing the fuel cap and then putting it back on, the truck started right up, could this be the problem, or do i have other issues.

Next time this happens, check to see if the security light is on. If this lights up ob your dash, that would explain it all. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

Sounds like you may have a weak fuel pump. You need to check your fuel pressure it should be 60-66 with key on engine off, if its not within specs replace the fuel pump

2003 Sonata 2.7-b. When I start it idles for 15 seconds and then cuts off.If I try to excelerate it choke and cut off.Ignition ON the fuel pump works and the fuel gushes out the fuel rail. 430kkm.

Connect a pressure gauge in the fuel line Check pressure and flow , if pressure is low check , leaks, pressure relief valve or regulator, fuel pump. If pressure is high and flow is low replace fuel filter, the fuel pressure must hold with the engine stopped , if not replace non return valve or fuel pump.

Location of fuel cutoff switch in a 2003 nissan 350z

There is no fuel cut off switch. The electric fuel pump only operates for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on and will only remain on when the engine has been started. If the engine is not started and the ignition is left on the computer will cut power to the pump.

If you want to cut all power to the fuel pump you have to remove the fuse for the pump or remove the relay that covers the power circuit to the fuel pump.

Problems starting! After several attemps it starts for a second then ded again after several more attemps it starts and then runs OK! Whats the problem?

Hi Conny:
I'd start by looking at the fuel delivery system.
Injectors or carb?
Sounds like it's not getting gas.
Make sure the carb is clean, automatic choke working.

2003 suburban starts and dies while driving, no codes read amd no engine lights on

check the fule presure on the injector rail is a what looks like a car tyre valve connect a gauge up to this or buy one ,i use a old AC filler pipe for one of them gas can things with the end changed to a tyre valve pump end and it works ok better than paying a lot of money for one ,should read 55lbs and if the pressure drops then suspect the gauze filter on the bottom of the pump first before you replace it as its a complete unit and around 600euros as its only available from the dealer

I have a 99 suburban that has 203,000 miles. It has developed a problem of taking a while to start. I have replaced fuel pump twice, the latest was about 3-4 years back. I have not checked pressures but...

I believe you have a fuel regulator weak or dirty injectors.
Try turning the key to the "on" position ( do not try and start) wait until fuel pump stops running (3-5 seconds or so ), turn the key off and immediatly repeat for 3 cycles. On the 4th key rotation, start the vehicle. Does it seem to start up faster?
If so, the regulator is weak, however, the fuel pump does have a check valve in it to prevent fuel from leaking back into the pump and maintain line pressure.
Try the diagnostic proceedure above first and we can go from there.
Good luck, let me know.
