Hi there
On the throttle body is an idling screw and I have seen them block up. Make sure that it is open and that the air can pass through the little opening. Check all air intakes and make sure that you have no leaks. Check all the air pipes for leaks. Good luck.

2004 Honda Odyssey, When excelerating at low speeds the engine sputters. At high rates (40+), it sputters when I take my foot off the excelerator. When idling, the RPM's fluctuate between 1 and 2

Hi
your description of the car problem indicate that you have a problem in throttle body

have you do any maintenance recently to car throttle body, or the problem come suddenly. if no.

if no maintenance done then i suggest to inspect engine intake
line ( from engine filter box to throttle body) for any looseness of damage, also you have to clean your throttle body by an experience tech. and perform idle learn procedure.

hopefully this information fix your problem.

best wishes

It depends on the car. If the car has alot of load on the transmission going uphill, it can make the car gobackwards. Many reasons. Weight, what type of car etc. It isnt something I'd worry too much about. Just have your foot on the brake when you stop

I have a 2000 Chrysler Sebring that wont idle. The car starts and will run only if I step on the gas pedal.

clean the IAC. Use spray carb cleaner and spray the idle air control valve. It is on the throttle body near the throttle plate. It may have become stuck with deposits.

Clean the throttle body as well. Check for vacuum leaks

Truck Stalls when ideling in traffic

I don't know what the STP cleaner may have done; I had a similar problem where my car would idle very low when stopped or in a drive-through waiting. It turns out there was black soot on the engine intake. I disconnected the rubber hose from the air filter at the engine (take cover off, loosen 1 clamp). I used a spray can of throttle body cleaner and wiped the area clear. I then had my dealer perform the programming change for a service bulletin that mentions throttle body coking.

IDLE May be too Low

you could have a faulty Tps(throttle position sensor) this is located on the throttle body and has either a 4 wire plug or a 2 wire plug. I'm willing to bet that you need to replace this. the tps is responsible for your idle setting via the ecm(engine control moduel)...please rate this
