The engine wont start ive changed glow plugs fuel injectoers and primer pump. it will start on airostart but not the key

I have Nissan hardbody diesel 16 vengine it cranks quickly but doesn't want to start

Does it crank? If yes, do you have fuel pressure? Needs 55-62 psi of pressure.(Blazers eat fuel pumps like candy, and this one is inside the fuel tank) Is the check engine light on? May have a cam or crank sensor fault. Need to be certain before throwing parts at it. The fuel pressure test port is right on top of the intake manifold. There may be a factory security system that's been activated, do you have the key fob?

Hi Chris, From what you have explained I would suspect that you have a leakage where air is being drawn into the system. A good place to start looking is on the filter housings. Sometimes the gasket seals leak and give those symptoms. Once you have eliminated that area it would be a good idea to check the entire fuel line and even replace it. The glow plugs may be new, but what about the control circuit? Take a test light and make sure that power is actually arriving at the plugs? Lastly it may be the head and rotor, which is a part of the distributor type injector pump. Depending on the amount of sulpher in the fuel in your part of the world determines the life span of that part of the pump. As you say the pump has been serviced find out if the same unit was replaced. Good luck and best regards John

Take the fuel line off the tank side of primer and connect a plastic jar full of diesel there and see if it starts. If not disconnect fuel line from primer side of fuel pump and see if fuel gets through to injectors. If not problem is in pump. If you have fuel and still wont start it will likely be glow plugs. You can short them out with a wire from positive battery terminal to plate joining all glow plugs. (make sure you disconnect it after 30 seconds or so or they will burn out) The engine will probably not start at all if the glow plugs dont work. (all this advice is from experience)

You need a new fuel pump. The injectoers require 50 psi to start the engine.

THE KEY U ARE USING THAT TURNS THAT LIGHT ON IS NO GOOD OR NOT PROGRAMMED, THE LIGHT IS THE SECURITY SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT, IF THE OHTER KEY DOESN'T FLASH THE LIGHT THEN THAT KEY IS OK, SOUNDS LIKE YOU MAY HAVE A FUEL PRESSURE PROBLEM, HAVE U VERIFIED THE FUEL PUMP WORKS AND YOU HAVE INJECTORS DELIVERING FUEL? DO YOU HAVE SPARK?.

Did you check to see if there is power to the glow plugs if not then that may be the problem and if there is power when you cycle the key not to start but for the plugs to warm up you may have a bad glow plugs.
