Question about 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

My 1995 v8 gc limited cuts out like it suddenly lacks air or fuel. Especially occurs when going uphill. Also it seems sluggish all the time. I took it to a jeep dealer. The mechanic & shop supervisor couldn't find the problem & ended up putting in new spark plugs (Champion). The problem disappeared for about a month but is now starting again.

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't thought of that at all. I had considered that it might be a wiring problem . I'm going to suggest it to the mechanic who works on my Jeep and we'll give it a try. Thanks again, Sharon.

Chevy uplander going uphill sputters and check engine light blinks multiple times?

Usually a sputter will occur under load conditions like going up hill from a lack of fuel. Start by changing the fuel filter.

Renault Laguna 2 2001 1600 16v misfiring. Sluggish going uphill, makes a load clacking sound when the accelerator is pressed but stops when coasring, cuts out when it comes to a stop

Seems quite evident that the firing timing is OFF and the fuel tuning needs a check. The engine seems to hunt around when it is accelerated as it is pinking/knocking when powered. So please have the timing of the firing checked, check the electrical section of the ignition, check the spark plugs, the HT wires.
Now also make sure that the fuel pressure is good , the fuel is good grade and the filter is clean.

1993 to 1997 should be the same. if there are bolts on the hinge, your laughing. if its welded you will have to order a hinge pin kit. the wiring should have a master plug on the truck side.

I need to know if my Catellitic converter is plugged or not

A plugged cat is most likely the problem. Also, about the rich exhaust fumes, you might not be getting the right mixture of air/gas making your vehicle sluggish. Check your air filter to make sure its not clogged..

1995 nissan pickup bogs down, feels sluggish

if the car starts then there shouldn't be anything wrong with your fuel pump. fuel pumps either work or they don't. it sounds like you may be having a problem with your mass air flow sensor you can try cleaning it with an approved aerosol spray or it may need to be replaced. hope this helps.

Trembles a little and suddenly turns off

when it does this ,see if black smoke coming from tailpipe...could be your oxy sensor not reading fuel ratio ...age seems about right for bad sensor...also if you change this ,take car for a good driveapp.20 mi. to let new sensor get a good reading on fuel /air mix coming from engine exhaust

This happened to my 2001 Regal... There is a factory recall on the Catalytic Converter going bad. I had mine replaced with the recall and haven't had a problem since
