To properly adjust the headlights you need an aiming tool so the horizontal and vertical degree adjustments are set correctly so you don`t blind on coming traffic.go to a shop and have it done properly.you also can be ticketed by police if they choose to.

It depends on which engine you have. It's between the cylinder heads either on the front (by the belt) or the back. Your sensor looks something like this:

if you are running the standard head unit it may not have a remote wire you can however use an ignition live off the back of the stereo

How to align the headlights on a 2005 ford taurus

the driver side should point slightly down and slightly to the right. Pass side slightly down. It should be cheap to have them adjusted with a special tool.

Headlights

The fuse panel is located below and to the left of the steering wheel by
the brake pedal. Remove the panel cover to access the fuses.
fuse #11 is right head lamps
fuse #12 is high beams
fuse #18 is parking lights

HI, I'm reading your problem,
Let me explain something about your car.

2005 Ford Taurus, The key on that car has Chip inside of the key and receiver on the ignition switch,
Check if the key you are trying to use is Black and has a plastic head.
If not you need a key with that characteristics.
But if you have the right key, Remenber if you had drop on the floor, or hit with something,
Because some times they come damaged, with insignificat thins.
Remenber if you left the key close to a magnets like speakers.

If nothing aply at your case, you need to call a place Aloha Smith, they have the computer to program or reprogarm your key. IF not you can't start your car.
