My computer is putting out code p0705 range sensor malfunction what is that? how bad is it? how do i fix it?

there is a tsb that states a p0705 can be a range switch out of adjustment. To adjust the switch apply park brake, put trans in neutral, remove aircleaner assy, check that the holes line up prefectly in the switch and lever.
I have one in the shop that has some other problem not apperant with the same code.

Transmision range sensor circuit (PRNDL imput) P0705 2004 Mitsubishi lancer

Usually a P0705 means your TRS (transmission range sensor) is shot. It is what looks like an old backup light/neutral safety switch and is attached to the transmission where the shift lever goes in. .

How much does it cost to fix reverse lites on a 1997 volvo?

This is an external problem.P1134 is telling us that upper O2 sensor on bank 1 -which is firewall side- is responding slow and needs to be replaced. P0705 is showing the transmission range switch -which is located on the top of the transmission just under the battery tray- has given up. That is why the shifter indicator lights acting weird. Replacing these two parts will take care of your problem.
