I had my van worked on - not the stereo - but when I picked it up the CD player was not working. It is a six disk CD player. There is a mode button that changes from AM - FM - CD. There mode button will not change to CD it simple goes from AM to FM.
The player was making a sound like it was trying to load a CD but I can't get the mode to change.

hi, the only real option you have that you can do yourself is to go out and buy a decent cd lense cleaning cd this will then clean any dust and grime off the cd laser as this is the usual cause of the problem, dont buy the cheap ones as they tend not to work.
Do you get the error code with all cds if yes then its deffinatley going to be the laser at fault so unless cleaning solves the problem then the chances are the stereo needs replacing due to the fact that it would cost more to repair than it would to replace so you cant get them repaired.
You could also buy a con of compresses air and give this a spray into your stereo this will remove any dust and may solve your problem.
Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
My grandcarvan sxt came with a remote for the DVD system and wireless headphones from KOSS. You have to press the headphone button on the remote to change it to headphones otherwise it comes through the main system. With the button pressed we can listen to cd or radio in front while they wear the headphones in back. You might need the remote to change it back to main system. The headphones from Koss are lifetime guaranty and not too expensive.
all you have to do is remove the trim and checkout the plugs and the wires to see if they are the same and it came out of one caravan to the other you should not have no problem at all because in the wiring one of them is for the cd player also
Hello, Unfortunately you cannot hook this stereo up with out the original plug that fits into the stereo unit. Once you have that then you could buy an wiring adapter that will break out the wires out of the original harness with labeled wires and you can just match them up and tape them together.
