How to get fly wheel off of 77 Ford F100, 351 mod, 400 block?

I had to do this on my 1988 F250, if I remember correctly:
Remove in this order:
Driveshaft, Starter, lower cover plate, transmission, torque converter.
Flywheel s/b bolted to converter.
When driveshaft is removed - plug gap in tranny output - between drive shaft and housing - to prevent fluid spillage.
When removing transmission - plug hole in converter to prevent spillage.
When handling converter hold it flywheel side down until - to avoid fluid loss.
I presume you have all the correct tools and a helper.
hope it goes well

How do you separate the transmission and the torque converter? The torque converter is stuck with the transmission. Is there an easy way to take them apart.? It is an 1998 Ford Brando II 2.9

is the assembly still connected to the motor? if so then remove the starter and you should be able to get to the torque converter nuts (or bolts). then you will be able to remove the tranmission assembly. if the transmission is out and the converter is stuck in it, then you would have to beat it off some how. transmisson is going to have to be built if unit is stuck like this anyway. good luck. hope i helped you

I got all the bolts off the transmission and it will not disconnect from the motor

I'm assuming this is an automatic transmission. Have you removed the bolts from the torque converter?

Where is the manual lever position sensor located on a 1996 ford econoline van 5.8l? Whats the price ? How do install?

Dear Curlydrumzx,
This sensor is located on the left side of the transmission. It is the switch just below the shift cable.
To change it,you need to block the wheels and jack the left front side up.This is to gain access. Apply the park brake and shift the unit into neutral. On the side of the transmission, disconnect the shift cable and the bracket. Unplug the electrical connector. At this point, there are two bolts holding the switch to the side of the transmission. Remove them and pull the switch away from the side of the transmission.
You can reverse the order to reinstall. The only other step is to align the switch to the neutral position before you tighten the two mounting bolts. Ford has a tool #T92P-70010-AH that does this. They are available through aftermarket tool companies and can be rented from some parts houses. Some people can line up the marks on the switch. I prefer the line up tool, that takes out the guess work.
The switch has a list price from $100-$150. You maybe able to get it cheaper from other manufactures.
I hope this helps.Drop me a line if you need any other information. Thanks,Chuck

Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off. You either have no power to the lock up convertor clutch or the activator is bad. Take it to a tranny guy for this one.Unless of course you know transmissions.
