Four way flashers and signal lights are not working on 1998 for taurus have changed the delay relay switch

The flasher units are different for turn signals and four way flashers. Not sure but most are under the dash not far from the steering column

do your signals work ? listen when signal is on the (clicking noise) when you find that flasher relay is next to it.

its likely the turn signal switch (multi function switch) if the hi-mount still works,

Check the fuse/relay panel for a blown fuse/relay. Also look at the turn signal flasher and the four way flasher located in fuse/relay panel for problem. If the fuses are good replace the flashers to correct the problem. Hope this will help you.

If the fuses are good and the front and rear bulbs are good, change the flasher for the turn signals, even tho the right is working. If that doesn't fix the problem, it might be in the turn sgnal switch on the steering column.
If both bulbs are good for the backup lights and fuses are good, then the backup light switch, which is screwed into the side of the transmission has to bad.

Replace the hazard switch, It has the turn signal flasher built in to it.

Turn signals have a relay (its a small switch that charges and discharges current) which controls your turn signals blinking speed and interval. This is most likely your problem. You should be able to get a new one at your local parts store. Follow these instructions, in this order, and let me know how it works.

Step 1:Turn on the hazard lights and walk around the Taurus checking that all four turn signal lights are working. If any of them are not working, replace the bulbs. A non-working bulb in any of the turn signals will often make the turn signals appear that a flasher is going bad.

Step 2:
Locate the fuse box and check the fuses for the turn signals. There may be more than one. Replace any fuses that are blown and then recheck the turn signals again. If they still aren't working properly, then move on to replace the flasher. Step 3: Look for a round, silver-colored object near the fuse box. Put your finger on the object and turn on the turn signal. You should be able to feel a mechanical clicking as the turn signal blinks. This is the flasher. Step 4: Pull the silver flasher out of the socket and replace it with the new one. Each of the flashers should have two pins sticking out of the bottom side. Start the Taurus and recheck the turn signals to ensure that they work. Joel

Look under the Hood in the Fuse Relay Box and see if there is not a Relay for the Flashers. If it is here, Replace it and the Common Fuse for the Flashers that is Supposed to be in the Fuse Panel under the Dash on the Inside. Let me know. pull the fuse panel cover and the cover will show you where the correct fuse is.

Does the emergency (four way) flasher system work?

Make sure the four way flashers are OFF , as the turn signal indication lamp system will not work with the four ways ON.

i can tell u this the multifuncion switch is in the steering colum signals,highbeam flash to pass and wipers chuck
