I have replaced the altenator and the battery and am still waking up to a car with a drained battery. there is a power drain coming from some where and has been to three different auto mechanics who specialize in BMW's and nobody can find the answer. BMW is going to charge me 4x the real cost of the problem so this is my last hope with you.

-   I wake up to find a dead battery in my 525TI wagon. I've installed a new battery and alternator only to wake up to the same problem a month later. I've notice that my security red flasher is blinking faster then normal, do you think this is an indication of a power drain? -   azorrilla

CHANGE THE STARTER, WE HAVE TO LOOK AT THE PARTS THAT R CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERY AND COULD DRAW ENOUGH CURRENT OVERTIME IS THE STARTER OR LEVELING SYSTEM. CHECK ALL COMPONENTS WITH DIRECT BATTERY CONNECTION THAT R FUSED AT 40AMPS OR GREATER. AND USE THE PROCESS OF ELIMINATION OF THE MOST USED PART. THE STARTER CAN START THE CAR BUT ALSO IT IS POSSIBLE FOR IT TO DRAW CURRENT ONCE THE IGNITION IS TURNED OFF. USE A DIGITAL VOLT METER ON THE BATTERY TO MEASURE HOW FAST THE BATTERY VOLTAGE IS DROPING OVER TIME.

TO check the battery drain switch off the car ,sit inside the car check if any of the electric is switch on like stereo etc..or check if the alarm unit is sucking more power from the battery.
There must be something draining to much power. Some faulty wired cellphone carkits are known to do this.
Either that or the battery is damaged and also check if the attenuator is charging the battery of the car......

Good luck..
