Yes you have a pore ground to the head light the reason its dim is it is using one of the other wires as a ground check the plug when its un plugged from the head light turn the lights on and
you will have power on 1 line on low and the other on high the 3rd is the ground

hope this helps you
good luck

My 99 Durango was not starting all the time I replaced the ignition switch now the check lights don't come on when you turn ignition won't start I hear the starter pinion engaging what could be wrong

You did something wrong , maybe . Hooked it up wrong . Without looking at it and checking a wiring diagram and doing some electrical testing anyone on here would only be guessing . Your best bet would be have a qualified repair shop look at it . And a intermittent no start would probably becaused by a park neutral safety switch problem . If you have a automatic transmission .

I am trying to hook up pioneer deh425 car stereo to my 99 dodge durango please I need wiring color codes for both thank you

go to a radio shack or like store and get a adapter plug to match your new unit , that way you don"t have to cut no wires and its a piece of cake to just plug in this thing will plug in to the dodge plug and the other end plugs in to your new unit

99 durango no power removed dash no power now maybe a short or wat

I think you may not have connected the main harness to the dash when you reinstalled it. The only way I know of to be sure is to pull dash again, this plug is not accesable with the dash installed.

How do you pull the starter from a 99 dodge durango?

Disconnect battery.
Find positive battery wire and follow it to lower side of engine to the starter.
Disconnect battery wire from starter.
Loosen & remove the (usually 2) retaining bolts holding starter to engine.
Remove starter with a back and down action.

To replace just do the opposite.

Hope this helps...

Where would i hook a chain to the 04 mustang to pull it out of the mudd

Use the two hooks.
If you don't have them, wrap the strap around the frame. It is a low profile car so the recovery strap will most likely push up on bumper (depending upon the angle).
The deeper the mud, the harder you will need to pull, the more damage you can do. Have some friends push while it is being pulled.
Be safe. Call a tow truck if you need to.

How do i change my front lights on my durango. The screws on front are stripped and my allen wrenches wont work.can i go from inside?

if your trying to change the bulbs you have to do it from inside by twisting the plug counter clockwise and pulling. however if your taking the whole headlight assembly out yur still messin around with the wrong screws, those allen screws are for headlight adjustment only,, ther are two bolts and a peg, the first bolt is sandwiched between the bumper and head light, the second is behind the head light and can be acessed by lifting the hood so the grille is out of the way and reaching in from the side they are 10mm bolts good luck

Dodge Durango 1999

I have a 99 dodge 1500 that had the exact same problem. It was the speed sensor on the rear end mounted on the top side near the pinion gear. It is an easy repacement part. After removing the retainer and wire clip it pulls out.
