The problem sounds like the shift linkage has come loose or broken. This is what the shift lever uses to make the transmition move into the gear you put it in.

How do i remove the sliding tray in a 2006 honda pilot to retreive some papers that got under it?

Hi, Clyde I am a Harley expert and I do not normally answer automobile questions but in your case, I will make an exception because when I was a boy I lived in England my best friends name was Clyde Winsley and I happen to own a 2004 Honda Pilot anyways to get those papers out you have to remove the center counsel but before you start this procedure I highly recommend you run down to your local auto parts store and pick up a repair manual, I like the Chilton version for $20-30. My 2007 honda pilot had a sudden and complete shut down while driving about 10mph and will not start again and no power at all, the gear will not move at all

So why are you here?

You have tried to charge the battery & maybe there
are other tests that could be done, but the battery
would appear to be done

You always start any testing for a problem with a good
battery capable of taking & holding a charge & at least
12.6 volts static

Brand new battery died in 2004 honda pilot

The charging circuit/voltage maybe faulty.
I recommend you get an auto electrician to check out your alternator and charging regulator.

@004 Pilot the check engine light came on after my daughter bought gas. Autozone code was p1456. Car seems to be running fine.

2004 Honda Pilot engine light came on this morning. Last bought gas 5 days ago. Auto Zone checked and found code P1456, emission control system leak detected (fuel tank system)
Four options;
1) Loose fuel cap
2) Vapor canister saturated
3) Failed vent solanoid
4) Failed purge solenoid

Thanks.

Day time running light problem

The problem with the DRL issue describd in the above posts is the DRl module(it needs to be replaced). The buzzing relay and intermittent on/off of passenger side DRl are indicators that the module needs to be replaced.

I have a honda pilot 2004 that will not shift into gear. It just started intermittently 3 days ago

root cause is brake light switch under the steering column / on top of the brake lever... since the brake light switch is broke... it thinks you don't have your foot on the brake and therefore won't let you put it into gear... btw.. your brake lights don't work either...

its intermittant for a while, until the brake switch goes out completely...

a work-a-round is in the manual... you stick your key (or similar object) into a **** in the top of the steering column... (if you've never done this before, there is a little piece of plastic that covers thw hole, and comes out when pried)... pressing something down into the hole allows the gear lever to be moved out of P to the drive gears or N... if you used your key, put it in N, then start the car, then put it in gear....

"check the gear oil" really... and your a "master"
